With this strong motto, Phionah Achieng Uhuru, a law graduate, together with 10 other alumni of her former school on Rusinga, the Dr. Williams School, founded the NYALORE Community Based Organization (CBO) and started a mentorship program. They mentor, support and encourage young girls and their male counterparts from this and other schools, aiming to sensitize them to their surroundings and guide them through life and development in the long term.
“Those who say it can’t be done shouldn’t stand in the way of those who do.”
Phionah began a 12-month scholarship in Munich in September.
