genialsozial – your work against poverty – youth solidarity campaign with 22,000 students from 222 schools (2022)
The idea is ingenious and social. With many small forces, big things can be achieved. Students use their strength to help young people in poorer regions of the world in order to improve their living and educational opportunities and to open up new perspectives.
How does this work? On the last Tuesday before the summer vacations, students swap their school desk for a job. The students donate the wages they earn to support social projects in Saxony and around the world.
Just one day of commitment can make a big difference!
BaRuIs e.V. has submitted an application for funding to the Saxon Youth Foundation. Another project of hope for Rusinga Island.
Our goal is to establish self-supporting and inclusive educational opportunities for the local youth, in particular the development of professional perspectives in the trade sector, which is in high demand. After all, as trained skilled workers, young adults not only secure their own livelihood and that of their families, but also make a significant contribution to the economic development of the region. We want to support the WAKIAGA Youth Polytechnic vocational school and the NYAMUGA special school for students with handicaps, help modernize and expand the two schools, create a healthy and productive learning environment for children and young people from low-income families, and better equip the training courses or establish new ones.
