The major construction projects are complete. The kitchen buildings with dining hall at the NYAMUGA Special School and the WAKIAGA Polytechnic are significantly improving living and learning conditions. The drinking water system at WAKIAGA provides clean drinking water for the school and the community. The dormitory for the WAKIAGA boarding students, which was in dire need of renovation, has also been completed and the IT room has recently been refurbished.
Now the schools are being filled with content. Computers have already been delivered as well as the first tools and equipment for the courses.
Concepts that can generate income are essential for both schools. The agricultural training programme is intended to supply the school kitchens with chickens, eggs and vegetables as well as bring produce to the local market. Among other things, IT courses and tool loans for community members (Tool Library) help to generate funds to build up reserves for replacement purchases. In particular, the proceeds from the sale of drinking water will benefit the sustainable operation of the facility.
